In July of 2000, the Alaska Department of Revenue, Tax Division decided to evaluate Wyoming’s Mineral Tax System to assist in implementing Alaska’s taxation systems. Motor Fuel tax was chosen as a first pilot tax type for customization. The team of CAI was asked to interview the Tax Division staff and document requirements for the Alaska's new system. Of particular interest was the data model of the Mineral Tax System, compared to the Motor Fuel System, and how the new system would integrate the two data models. The team, led by Sunil Sethi, was successful in documenting the requirements and also in implementing the new system.
